Note from the founder

Art, in all forms, but specifically sketching and painting has always been my forte and a comfortable space for me to showcase my emotions and expressions artistically and creatively. I have always been fascinated with colors, the way they capture a moment in time is something that I cherish and aim to achieve through my art. I created 14 works and decided to curate it into an exhibition titled “Sakura”. It is inspired by the picturesque world around us that is brimming with happiness, optimism, and joy. ‘Sakura’ means cherry blossoms, symbolizing new beginnings with the onset of hope after a long cold winter. It was held on 9th October 2021, at the Coomaraswamy Hall at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (Prince of Wales Museum).

I partnered with Concern India Foundation because their motto, “Helping people help themselves” really resonated with me and my belief in making one self-reliant. With their pan-India coverage that works on issues that deal with education, healthcare, and community development, I think their aim of improving the lives of youth, women, and the differently abled strives to help a large group of the population in need and is impactful.

The proceeds of this exhibition have gone towards girl child education which will enhance and foster their education and aim to make it a more nurturing and fulfilling environment. Moreover, it will help equip them with skills and tools that are necessary to prepare them for the real world.
